Meredith Alumna T-Shirt Quilt

This t-shirt quilt was made as a gift for a Meredith College alumna. Lots of schools have traditions carried on through the years that give their alumni a common set of experiences.

Meredith is rich in tradition and in t-shirts to go along with those traditions. It was fun to create this t-shirt quilt because each shirt recalled one of the experiences that this Meredith graduate had had.

The “Flower Power” design/panto was chosen because Meredith has a daisy chain traditions, so even the quilting design adds to the memories.

A label was attached to the back. It was hand-written by the giver of the quilt and adds a personal touch as well as documenting the occasion when the t-shirt quilt was given.

My favorite shirt in the quilt is the one that says “It’s not just another t-shirt, it’s another memory” and that’s why I love making t-shirt quilts.
