Welcome to Quilting Cats Studio!

My name is Faith Patterson and I specialize in longarm quilting services and in making custom t-shirt/memory quilts. I work with an APQS Millie longarm on a 12 foot frame with stitches controlled by IntelliQuilter software. I started my business in 2021.

My background is in art and design. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Art in 2015, and for my senior project I designed and made a quilt to demonstrate that we need to look at structure and design as a way to comfort those who are suffering.

I have been quilting for 17 years! I love choosing the fabric colors and piecing the quilt top. However, I never enjoyed the next steps of putting together the 3 layer quilt sandwich and quilting on my home sewing machine.

For this reason, I have always been fascinated by computerized longarms. In 2021, I had an opportunity to own a machine of my own, and I have not been disappointed by the results that are possible with computerized edge-to-edge quilting.

I enjoy suggesting panto (stitch design) options to customers and seeing them change a flat quilt top into a lovely textured quilt.

For those with no sewing or quilting experience, I also make custom t-shirt or memory quilts. I enjoy hearing the stories of a lifetime of shirts that have been collected and turning them into a unique gift — a very personal finished quilt.

If you entrust your quilt top or custom project with me, I promise to carefully and thoughtfully utilize my skills and computerized edge-to-edge quilting to make your quilt shine.

In case you are wondering, my business is named Quilting Cats Studio because my two favorite things are quilting and cats. They just seem to go together.

My cat, Scooby, rescued me from a job that I hated. He was an injured stray cat that approached me in the middle of a work day. I tried to bring him to a shelter, but ended up adopting him and quitting my job, which were both good things. Today, Scooby is a well-fed, happy, lazy cat with a limp and lots of personality, and I have a job that I love working with quilts.

Note: If you are allergic to cats, please note that cats live in the house where my longarm resides. Unless the customer allows, my cats are not permitted to sit on or come in contact with any customer quilts. However, if you are concerned about cats being in the building, we may not be the company for you.
