Queen-Size Beauty

This quilt top was pieced by a friend who normally utilizes free-motion quilting to finish her quilts. This, however, is a queen-sized quilt top, so she decided to have it longarmed.

She chose the “Oh, My Feathers” quilt pattern/panto and, it worked out beautifully. The swirls of the panto gave some movement to the design and contrasted with the straight lines of the piecing. The curves also echoed some of the curves in the print fabric.

Donna also chose the WHITE Quilters Dream 80/20 Cotton/Polyester batting. Most bed quilts are fine with the Natural 80/20 batting. This quilt, however, has a lot of white fabric, so the Natural batting may have eventually started to make the whites look slightly dingy. The White batting keeps those whites looking crisp and clean.
